Bernie Clark, pioneer of yin yoga states, “Our goal in life is not to become perfect: our goal is to become whole.” Yin yoga seeks to balance the all too common yang practices of the Western world. In this one hour practice, we first calm the monkey mind with meditation. Then, we move into juicy shapes, in which, we hold for 3-5 minutes using bolsters, blocks, and blankets to aid in relaxation and lengthening of our tissues. Because the relaxed nature of this class, feel free to wear pajamas and expect a perfect Sunday night sleep. It’s a perfect way to prepare for the work week.
