Iyengar Yoga for Outdoor Activities with Kara Durland
Tue., June 4 @ 7:00 am - 8:15 am
From Spring to Summer: Iyengar Yoga for Outdoor Activities
4 Week Series: Tuesdays June 4, 11, 18, 25
7:00 AM – 8:15 AM
As we transition from spring to summer, we often increase the hours we spend outside: mountain biking, running, gardening, hiking, swimming, cycling, and much more.
These activities, while integral to the health of our body and mind, also place additional stress on particular muscle groups and joints.
Join me for a 4 week course to release, relieve, enhance, and observe:
- Calves, quadriceps, & hamstrings
- Hips, hip flexors & lower back
- Shoulders, neck, & upper back
- Hands & wrists
- Breath
The practice of Iyengar Yoga provides a systematic approach to cultivate stability, mobility, flexibility, strength and awareness. Attention to anatomical detail, alignment, and the use of props encourages the integration of body, mind, and soul.
Teacher: Kara Durland, Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher
- Having spent over 10 years climbing, 20+ years cycling and racing mountain bikes, with miles of hiking and running in between, I understand the attention and gratitude that we must pay to being in our own body.
“It is through your body that you realize you are a spark of divinity.” ~ B.K.S.Iyengar
